    Vexus October 12th Update

From the countless hues in a sunrise and morphing leaves on a tree to the cooler temps, fresh air, and incredible fishing, fall is beginning to show its colors here in the Ozarks. It’s a special time that’s transforming the scenery just outside our windows. To that point, some may not realize that our plant sits right next to an old quarry on Lee's Mountain – the very resource that provided the crushed stone to build Bull Shoals Dam back in the 40’s and 50’s. A 7-mile-long conveyor belt carried the rock to the dam. At the time, it was the longest conveyor system of its type. It’s more than ironic that our innovative focus is located so close to such a place. As Keith Daffron once said, “We’ve never lost sight of what started it all.” Without those efforts on the dam so many years ago, life might have been different for all of us.
Forrest Wood’s work on the dam as well as his early guiding on the newly-made lake and legendary White River, signaled a personal commitment to excellence that’s been forever ingrained in our DNA. As part of that dedication, a few weeks ago, we were privileged to share our plant with a high school group from Mountain Home, Arkansas. In conjunction with ASUMH Technical Center and Workforce Development, we highlighted a broad range of careers in our industry along with the importance of a host of skill sets. It was great to see so many interested young men and women with a focus on the future.
Likewise, we’d like to send a shout-out to all the great folks at Anstaff Bank. Last week, they took time out of their busy schedules to grill lunch for the Vexus™ team. Not only did we enjoy some really good food and hospitality but, we had a chance to catch up with friends and make even more memories in this special place.
So much more on the horizon. Thanks for spending time with us.

A rainy but beautiful start to another fall day here at Vexus™.

You can still see traces of the quarry work on Lee's Mountain. During the late 1940's and early 50's, crushed rock from here was delivered on a 7-mile conveyor belt to the Bull Shoals Dam construction site. This view overlooks our manufacturing plant.

Forrest and Nina Wood along with grandson, Keith Daffron here in our break room.

    Yes, they were delicious!

A special thanks to the entire group of teachers and young men and women that toured our facility.

"Success is never owned, it is rented, and the rent is due every day."
