    Livescope and screen resolution

Is there a significant difference in detail on livescope between say an echomap plus (vga) and gpsmap (swvga) on livescope or uhd?

Looks like the echomaps share sonar and waypoints now so not see much advantage of going to a gpsmap unless reolution is a big deal or you need bigger than 9” screen

I'm sure I am like most. I haven't tried it on anything but my 1042XSV. I do have a 73sv PLUS but haven't gone to the trouble to remount it up front to compare.

I was leaning toward a 1042 so that it would work with the rest of my network but now that I see the echomap plus share sonar and gps im thinking a 93sv might be better in case I want to use it for ice fishing.

Is the 1042 really just a wider screen than the 93 plus? Doesnt appear that way in pictures but these are the specs off the garmin website.

    7608 7.0 x 4.0
    1042xvs. 8.8 x 4.9
    93 plus. 7.8 x 4.8
