What are the Difference year to year Triton TR21's

What changes did the hulls go through speed, stability etc.
    I have a 1999 TR21PDC, and am looking at a 2003 TR21PDC or 2005 21X
    Thanks Larry

The 2005X is a completely different boat than the earlier TR series. The bow was raised 5" and the transom was raised 2". The front deck was also widen several inches. The 2005 X series was one of the best boats Triton ever made until they came out with the XS series.

I would take my 2005 21X new again in a heartbeat, sorry but im not such a fan of my 2008 X2... newer isnt always better I have decided.

The 05 like others have said is completely different than the TR models. The 03 will be faster if it is equipped with the same size engine because of the weight difference and hull designs. The 05 is a very nice riding boat, has a much wider deck and a few other options like the boarding ladder. The X series boats ride a little flatter and are a "little" easier to drive but I like how you really have to drive the TR's. Myself I like the old TR models so I would be a little partial to the 03 but if you can get the 05 for say $5000 more it is probably the better boat for you.

I own an 05 21x and I love it!! In my opinion the 05 and 06 were awesome tritons!! They were loaded up because they were the main boats used for ALL Bassmaster Classic competitors back then. I have owned a 99 tr19, on 03 TR20 and a 10 TR196....I love my 05 21X and wish I could find another Brand New. Go with the 05!

2001 and newer Tr's moved the livewell, bilge, pumpouts, master power, acc power switches from the lower key area(by your right hip/knee) up to the dash on each side of the steering wheel, much more user friendly. Most of the newer Tr's had hydraulic steering as standard equipment. Some of the older Tr's only had one storage compartment on the front middle deck area.

My TR21X is an 04 and I see it is identical to the 05 and 06 21X's I have seen so far. I really enjoyed my 2001 TR20 but this 21X is that much better again and I plan on keeping this big rig for some time to come, still looks like showroom for the most part and I baby everything on it :) Awesome boat!!

I bought an 05 21x last year. I fish Ky Lake and Lake Erie/St Clair alot. These bodies of water can get really rough, so I was looking for a larger boat. I wasn't really even considering a Triton because of some of the older ones I had been in, but found this one and thought it was priced well. Took it out and ran it a few times and really liked it. The front deck is huge, and it handles rough water very well. I was looking at some bass cats and rangers, but chose this boat. It has been a great boat so far and I think I made the right choice. I would definitley go with the X boat.

The x series came out in late 03. I took delivery of mine from Rodney on 09/30/ 03. The first fish I caught out of it was. 6#9oz smallie under the old Egnar ferry bridge. I came out out of a 97 tr21, a very good boat but not near as good as the X, a drunk t-boned it on the day I paid it off..

What's the difference between the models the say 21X vs 21X High Performance? Seems like 06 to 08 are the High Performance years. 04 and 05 just say 21X.
