    Jack plate thoughts

So i put a 4 inch manual jackplate on my g3 sportman 1710 it has a 90 hso. I was happy with the performance of it before the plate but wanted it for a couple small reasons. Anyhow with the jack plate the cavitation plate is 1 1/4 higher than it was. I realize there are plenty of variables but what are the odds of this being higher than it should be to try and duplicate or better performance if that's even possible? Only reason why I'm asking instead of trying it is because I won't be able to take it out for a couple of months now....

With a 4” setback it’s about 2” of height gain at its lowest setting. So it appears you’re there. Old rule of thumb is, for every 1” setback you 1/2” up. Doing that should get back to the original trim use. But changing props to different styles and pitches, throws all that out the window.
