    Got my first bow deer

So my dad died young and I didn’t get to start hunting until I was an adult. I’m 47 now.

    Started about 5years ago.

Got My first gun deer in 2016. This year my goal was to get one with a bow.

Mission accomplished last Saturday. Shot a spike a 20 yards. Double lung and he droppped 30 yards away.

We had grilled back strap Sunday night.

Bow Hunting is where it’s at

Good job buddy. Any deer with a stick and string is a trophy. Up close and personal is just a more exciting way to hunt in my opinion.

I love bow hunting. I get a rise when I see deer while gun hunting, but there is just something different when they are 20 yards away instead of 150. Great job on the first one, now you are hooked and will spend way too much money and time on bow hunting.

Congrats on finding a new money pit.. I can think back a long time ago taking a shot, a bad shot, on a spike in a dead jog at about 20 yards and hitting him in the liver...first deer I killed with my bow...I was in the 6th grade...can't remember how many I've taken with a bow since...never forget this one....

Congratulations! I also got my first bow deer this year but I had to sneak up on the group and had to take a shot at 50 yards. Feels like it takes forever at that distance!

Once you have success with a bow everything hunted with a rifle becomes irrelevant. Congrats!
