Replacing trolling motor wire in G3 Eagle, have you done it?

2005 Eagle 175 - I need to replace the OEM 8 awg with 6 awg. If you've done it, were you able to pull new wires through while pulling old ones out?? And were you able to do this without removing any decking?

I was fortunate in that when I upgraded to a 55lb MG digital variable speed I only had to pull the front starboard hatch and the storage tub and run a new line under to the console to the fuze block, since the original rigger/retailer had run the old 43lb that way and G3, I guess G3, had run a 6AWG from the fuze block back to the battery.
