Needing some advice please. Water in fuel false alarm

2007 300XS. I have sc1000 gauges, sc5000, and merc monitors. My STB monitor is flashing a gas tank/bell symbol. Indicates a water in fuel issue. I have drained my VST and cannot find any water. What could I check next? I did try unplugging it, turned ignition on, but alarm still shows.

Correct- if you unplugged the sensor and STILL get the warning, that would have to be either another fault, OR the sensor lead is shorted to ground somewhere in the harness.

Much more likely it's another fault.
