    Question 2015 evinrude etec 250 stuck in reverse

    Hello,
    This weekend I was fishing a club tournament and came off plane in my boat, the engine started to rev real high, so I let off of the throttle completely, the engine is now stuck in reverse. it doesn't matter if the throttle is in forward, neutral or reverse. Any ideas on what might have caused it? I dropped it off at the mechanic right after the tournament.

    If the shift cable is working properly, I'd say a broken shifter detent or broken shift shaft, just to name a few possibilities.
