My 22trx is 3-4 seconds full of fuel, LW’s full and two people. Much better than my 2s was.

    24 fury :
    5930 rpm, 71.5 mph. 33lbs h2o

    24 tempest +:
    5870 rpm, 70.4 mph. 34lbs h2o

    23 tempest +:
    5910 rpm, 68.3 mph, 33lbs h2o

These are with a manual jp, its at the shop now getting moved up to the highest mounting holes to allow for a higher prop to pad.

Based on the results that were posted, the 25P Tempest won't get near the required RPM's if the 24P Tempest is only seeing 5870. This looks odd if he can get 5930 from a 24P Fury. Got a hunch the P2P is to low on the Tempest. Years ago I had a 2005 21X w/ Yamaha 250 HPDI. I ran a 27P Tempest and that rig would run 74-75 loaded all day long. Would almost hit 80 with just a driver and the livewells empty. The 21X was a fast hull.

I agree! there is usually 1 pitch difference between the Tempest and Fury. On my rig, the Tempest runs much better, of course that was with the 250 2s. I am trying to get an idea of how the Tempest are performing with the new 250 V8 as I have one on order. I have an A45 25p Tempest that has been BB'd and cup added and curious to see what/how it will perform with the V8. Yes, the 21X is a rocket ship. Ran a 27P Tempest on mine during winter 78-79! I love this boat and that's the reason I am repowering instead of buying a new boat.

To bad we don't live closer. I have quite of few Fury's and Tempest, some worked and some not. It would be fun to try these different props and setup to see what the new 4S could do on this hull. I think you are heading in the right direction by raising the motor. Good luck and keep us posted.

Update. I ran a 27 tempest @ +/- 5900 doing 80 on the dot. I had all my gear, 1/2 tank. Posted the footage on Facebook. The Tempest on my boat had MUCH more lift than the Fury 3 25

I also ran a 25P Tempest & tournament load, livewells full it was just over 76. About a 1/2 mile faster than the fury with same load

I knew they were coming at the Miami show in February which is when i ordered mine. It still took me 5 months to get it! I sell engines and I can get a 225 mechanical now if you want an engine on your boat. They're priced a little steeper than jacos but if you wanna take a drive, shoot me a PM.

Im also running a 24P Trophy. Nasty hole shot & it runs 70.5 @ 6180 tournament loaded, livewells full, 2 guys. I have went down in pitch because Okeechobee is dropping fast & need holeshot more than speed now
