    Take a clean wash cloth, get it wet wuth warm water and simply use a little pressure as you use it to clean handles. Works excellent and no soap or cleaners to dry out the cork.

    Magic eraser...then some elmer's wood filler if there are voids in the cork...sand, wipe down, then seal with u40 cork seal.

    I just wipe Coconut Oil that is already on Me.. Keeps the cork nice and smooth...

    And I use the 'less expensive rods' where the cork isn't usually the best available.
