    Reverse solenoid issue

I have a 2007 Stratos, the trailer has surge brakes and I can tell they aren’t working. I’m thinking the solenoid went bad again because I can unplug the lights and back up the trailer without the brakes activating. How can I tell what parts I need. Is there a number on the trailer I can look at? I have never done much work on trailers other than replacing lights. I have no idea where to start on replacing these parts. Thanks

Have you checked the brake fluid ?
Most often when the solenoid goes out It will not allow you to back up if the brakes are working.. I suppose it could quit in the open position.. I just have not witnessed it.
If it is the solenoid you can order it by itself.. Or since its 11 years old might just change out the whole unit.. There not to pricey.

If the solenoid is bad, you can’t back up with the lights plugged in or unplugged. If you can back up with the lights unplugged, your brakes aren’t working at all, and that has nothing to do with the solenoid.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.
