    Ranger owners with Evinrude G2

I've got a 2017 Z521 with a 250 G2. How high do you guys trim your motor at top speed? I know it depends on prop, weight distribution, etc but just curious. I trim it to around 65%. Getting closer to 70% doesn't seem to give me more speed.

Sounds about right. I run the Raker HO (on my Z519) and it likes about the same amount of trim as yours.

I'm at 75-80% but that was after recalibration. When it was first bought I would only turn 5200rpm @100% and would have to guess and watch my rpm and spray from the motor.

How high is your prop to pad, you can’t run ur engine as high on a 521 as say a 520.

    Buddy trims to 100% with his 518c /200 G2 but he raised the motor quite a bit. He’s running a 25 RX4.

    Mine trims to 60-70% at WOT. 119c 225HO G2 with a 24 raker HO.

    I've got a 4-blade (Raker I think) and a 3-blade as a backup. I may play with the trim a little more.

Interesting thread, I have. 521L with G2 and was struggling at first with this issue but after speaking with Ranger they informed me that you can way over trim a G2 and have to much positive trim. Whith that being said I found my sweet spot at 70-75% trim with my jackplate raised to the middle. The boat handles a lot better, seeing 70mph with Raker 3. Also they mount the motors very low for better rough water ride

Good info guys and very interesting. Most threads reference prop to pad and prop pitch but not so much the amount of trim.
I usually set my prop to pad about 2.0 inches low.

i run mine between 65-70. the variable is how your trim is calibrated - mine is calibrated from fully down to the end of the trim range. i know from the dealership it wasn't setup quite that way.

Exactly. Depends on how you’re calibrated. I set mine up for O tucked, 50 at transition from trim to tilt and 100 at full tilt. It just happens to be at neutral trim at 25.

I had no idea these were calibrated differently.

i can calibrate mine from the 3.5cs. i really like that i can limit the upper tilt level as well.
