Porpoising issue with 175 TXW equipped w/75 Merc ?

Has anyone experienced this with their 75hp 4 stroke on the 175 TXW? I need to know if I'm making the right choice choosing the 75hp Merc 4 stroke on a new TXW Tournament edition. I previously owned a 2008 TXW with the 60 4 stroke and never had any issue with porpoising. I know the 75 hp motor weighs 100 lbs. more.

Definitely shouldn’t have any. Much more displacement on the motor. It will carry the bow easier than the 60 hp.

Dont have the 175 TXW but my 190 porpoised when i got it and after adjusting engine height up to where it should be it went away.
As matter of fact gatorglenn (above) and several others were were a HUGE help in getting mine set up correctly and upgrading the prop. Couldnt be happier now!

What hole is your motor mounted in? Might be to low. Also prop will make a difference, what prop are you running.

+1. If the motor isnt mountes in at least the second hole from the top its too low. Plus if its an aluminum prop performance will suffer as well. Also what is your curret WOT RPM and gps speed?

I was mounted in the 2nd hole and could get porpoise by trimming. Had the motor raised to the 3rd and haven’t been back out yet.

Mercury spitfire 17p 4 blade prop made my 75hp aluminum boat much more enjoyable to drive.
