    Late December Dale Hollow fishing????

Typically how is the fishing this time of year. 26ish of Dec. Or would it be better to go over spring break March 17-24ish?

Both of those times are great.

A lot of guys are off work between Christmas and New Years, so the lake can be busy during that time, so I avoid it then. Thanksgiving can be busy there too. I go Mon-Thu and not on holidays or weekends, I like having the lake to myself....

Thanksgiving used to be the kick off to the fall fishing on Dale Hollow, but its been so warm into November the last few years... it hasn't really started getting good until around Christmas. Even around the Holiday's its not that crowded, IMO. I've got 4 day weekends for Christmas and New Years, I will be there for 3 days each of those.

I fished spring for years, coming down from the great white north, before moving back to Tn. The weather is unpredictable, so sometimes the fishing was excellent, others just good. Can go from snow (yes) to t shirt weather. Just never know. Worth the trip when ever you can make it.

Yes the smallmouth fishing will likely be good then. That is generally when it really gets good. If you have a day I would recommend it.

If you were going alone, or with another guy I'd recommend Horse Creek, its cheap, free slip with power but it is a dump. I stay there all time when I go, but it's not a place I'd take my wife. Nicer marinas are Willow Grove, Mitchell Creek, Holly Creek, Star Point.
