Evinrude 150 with a 4 blade, help me pick prop

So I purchased a 1979 ranger 168v it basically a 350 or 370 ranger, 18 foot long weighs about 1050 dry, came with a evinrude 150 with a 4 blade 13.5x23p prop I’m getting closer and closer to taking the boat out and was wondering what you guys think about this prop choice, lakes out here in Az aren’t choppy by any means so rough water is non existent. I will only use the boat for bass fishing no recreational fun stuff. So if I were to get a new prop what would you reccomend or should I just leave it alone being our lakes are pretty small so loosing a few mph isn’t a huge deal, the only lake with some distance to it is only 23 miles long but maybe a mile wide. Any help appreciated

I would try that prop first before I bought another unknown. Some 20 years ago I ran a 1997 Johnson 150 FastStrike on a 97 186 Champion, 5.5" JP, 3.5" below the pad with a 13.5 X 25 4 blade Renegade. Fastest hole shot, top speed, best handling/performance prop I ever had on that set up.

WOT RPM 5600-5700. GPS speed two people 65-66 all day everyday, alone and running light 67.XX, rarely would hit 68. The Johnson 150 FastStrike was well known to produce HP to 5700, although the rpm recommended range was 5000-5500. Ran that engine in the upper rpm range for 10 years until I traded it in on my current Champion.

Side note: I used to race my fishing buddy who had an 18' late 1990s Ranger. He had a 150 Merc. Only difference between the two boats speed wise was, his Ranger had a slight venting slip on hole shot, and I would gain about 3/4s of a boat length on hole shot. We would run wide open and he could never make up the 3/4 boat length. Both boats ran the same speed, in the 65-67 mph depending on the day and load.

    What year is the Evinrude?

It’s a 1979. In amazing condition even from sitting over 10 years, boat only had 1 owner, he fell ill and gave the boat to his kid to recarpet and use but he just let it sit. I couldn’t believe how good condition it was in once I got it home, I got the bait and trailer for 500 not knowing if the engine ran. Got it home cleaned everything up rebuilt carbs and most the engine, put gas in it and it literally started first crank ran a comp test warm and came out at 113-115 across all 6. Evinrude told me it should be 115-118 so now I’m in the process of renovating the entire boat and I’m getting close to done I can’t wait to finally get back out on the water!!!!!

Heck of a good deal there.
    I just paid $500 for a complete 1983 Champion 184 with a 84 Mercury 150 blackmax.
It came with a presicion turbo 14-3/4 x 24 prop.
I'm also wondering how that props going to work on this 18 footer.

350V is 17-10 and 82 inches wide and 370V is 17-10 and 88 niches wide. 2 different hulls. Yours is the same as the 350V,,not 370V. 2 different hulls and rides,,,,good hull though.

I just went off what ranger told me when I called their exact words were, in the late 70s early 80s all anyone cared about was going fast the 168v was a speed boat design they changed the platform to the 350-370 with a deeper keel for rough water and better stability

I backed off when it started to chime really bad, the boat was empty except 12 gallon so 1 full tank and me plus the 5 batteries, but I also build the deck extension so the weight is comparable to my tackle load. I was scared it would sink so didn’t load it up yet, I got up to 5400/5500 and let off, when I get the motor height dialed in and take it out in daylight I’ll get more accurate readings

Alright y’all starting to think the tach wasn’t calibrated just right and also messing with engine height the boat really wants the prop deeper in the water and if my tach is now accurate I think I’m underproped, the 13.5x23 might be a tad to small for how light the boat is the hull shot is stupid quick but I really have to watch the Rpm’s and back off which is why I’m dropping the engine down, I also only have to trim up for maybe 2 split seconds before she will start bouncing to get on pad I am able to trim past that and raise the nose even higher and gain even more rpms and speed but I’m thinking if I went bigger or more pitch it will help
