    Bear Archery Delta-V

Need a little help from you archery fanatics. I recently discover a bow case that looked old so I opened it and there was this delta-v. Looks to have never been shot had about 20 years of dust on the soft case has manual literature and a thing called a game tracker. You tie it to your arrow apparently and you just follow the string to your animal.. old school cool I know.. My question is, is it worth anything or so I just keep it and hang it on the wall? These small photos don’t do it justice to fully evaluate it please pm me with an email address..

Thank you in advance for for your time.

Wall hanger but don't try to shoot it with the very old string and cables it would not end well more than likely.

More of a collector bow than a shooter. There were not a great many produced but they were known to be heavy and VERY loud. Probably be best to put it on the wall or sell it on eBay to a collector.

That IS loud!!! Wow! Early compound so they had to start somewhere. I grew up with stick and recurves but got into compounds also but after they had been more developed. Neat piece of history you have there! I would rethink about shooting it though. Compounds have a lot of force on them and when they come apart you can get hurt... That one is pretty old. Might be fine, but might not.

I remember selling those when I worked in a sporting goods shop around 1980. I have a dandy scar behind my left elbow from when a Delta V came apart while I was shooting on the indoor range in the store. They were super fast, but also delicate, even when new. I wouldn’t shoot it.

Cool old bow, I remember them. Part of the engineering trail of archery.

Got an old Jennings 4 wheel model that belonged to my dad...there are certain things in life you remember forever... collection of firsts of course...times things went right or wrong....this is an odd one, I remember the very first time I was able to pull that 70 pounds back on my own.... obviously couldn't shoot it...didn't know how...but getting it back meant getting my own bow...I was 10 and I got a Browning X-Cellerator plus the very next week...

Bear was a great pr person for the sport but his bows were at the bottom of the food chain.
