    Big Green Lake

How’s the bite been on Big Green? I want to fish tomorrow and wondering if there are still some smallies around.
    Thanks. Jesse

Saturday was tough for me as well. Dialed in the walleye and northern pattern which obviously wasn’t my intention. I figured it would have been better with the wind and overcast conditions.

I got a 14.5 but my client got an 18 and a 20. Missed 3 others, all in a spot as big as my boat.

I was out there Saturday afternoon and it was slow and water temps between 57 and 60 where I was fishing.

I have found that the overcast conditions can make the bite tough sometimes for smallies. Last Saturday, I had good success and saw a lot of suspended baitfish. However, once the clouds rolled in, the baitfish did not show up on my sonar and the bite nearly stopped. I tried finding suspended bait over deeper water thinking that the overcast conditions put the baitfish away from grasslines, but couldn't find anything.

There are massive schools of 3-4” perch. Snagged a few with a jerkbait.

Was out about a week ago and landed a lot of decent fish and only lost one giant.

Been out a handful of times the last 2 weeks. Caught a few over 5 pounds, and one over 6. They're around in groups, but you have to cover a lot of water to find them.

There are dark shadows following those schools of perch. UW Whitewater is having a tournament out there this weekend. There should be some big weights and goose eggs too.

Yep. It took 18.5 to win, and I took 2nd with 17.6. It was a grind for a lot of the field, but those Perch schools were key to finding the bites.
