    200l carb rattle

My motor has a rattle when i crank it idling and when running. ser#0t555349, 200hp 2002 model. it just started the other day at the lake and i have looked all under the cowl and found nothing loose. however on a long run after about 15 minutes my over heat warning light and beeper came on so i backed off to half throttle and it cooled back off. is this an exhaust problem? if so how can i check it and or fix it? thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could be a loose exhaust tuner, drop the lower unit and use a flash light and a long screwdriver or rod to push it around to see if it’s loose. If loose you will need to remove powerhead to fix.

Was that a SOLID tone, or Four Beeps and a Pause (repeat)?
