1994 204 DCX
hi guys been a while got a question... in champion world according to Pat Jeff post.... it mentions the 1992 204 champion was a disaster I am able to afford a champion now late 80's into the 90's did they "improve" those hulls at all as I am looking at a 1994 204 dcx....

The 180 was a disaster, 204 was just a disappointment.
204 is tweaky to setup, it's really hard with a 2.5 motor, just not enough grunt to get it up and running.

Ok the boat has a 3.0l 225 merc..but basically you are suggesting to keep looking...and is the 198 the exact same hull as the 202...I have been talking with a fellow over the net about this 95 202 I was wondering if all those 95/96 202,s had the stress crack issues you had mentioned and what area do I look for the stress cracks... If I have a chance get exact boat I would like 202..but second choice 18.4 dual console..

The 198 and the earlier 202s are entirely different animals. The 198 is a beam-forward wide body. The 202 is a narrower beam and not beam-forward. Both are good boats!
Pat what do you mean by unicorn?

‘95 was first model year. It does not have the big stringers that run to the end of the bow.
It lifts and runs harder than anything built prior or since.
