    Performance Difference Between a 15x17 & 14.5x19

I run an aluminum 15x17 prop on my 1988 Crestliner Sabre (22ft aluminum with cuddy cabin), with a 1989 Evinrude 150 two-stroke. I'm looking to add more top speed, maybe 3-5 MPH. Top speed fully loaded is currently around 32-33 MPH.

I'm not a performance junkie, but I fish Lake Ontario, and I'm usually 15-20 miles off shore. I would like a little more top speed for those rare occasions when I need to get back to port quickly in the event of a big storm that can happen out there with very little warning.

Would I benefit going to a 14.5x19 aluminum prop to gain a little more top speed? I'm open to your input and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Sadly, you probably won't get that much gain from a prop change, unless you are turning way too many rpms with the current prop.

Thanks! The RPM's are close to 4800 now.
