How far beneath the surface should it be?
I think it may also depend on how much rough water you fish in?
glad to see you got yours ordered!!

52 without a doubt or second of hesitation. I thought a 45 would be good on my R 681VS as it sits just about the same height as most bass boats when I am on the trolling motor and I was running a Terrova 80 - 60" on there. For about a month before I got the Ultrex I ran it at least 12" up, usually higher and never once popped the prop. I was gonna go 45 and the shop I got it from said do the 52. I put the 52 on there and I have had a couple of occasions where the 52 has popped out of the water in some mega wakes on Minnetonka, but I was also taking a good bit of water over the bow too. 52 is the way to go as a minimum on just about any boat in my opinion. I have fished out of a few different boats with Ultrexes now and there is no reason I can find to go with a 45.

52..... You could always raise it up when you're in shallow water.
