Ohio boy headed to LSC for weekend

    Guys,

Any thoughts on smallies on LSC the weekend of 10/13, MI water only since I don’t have a Canadian license? Don’t get up much but got a MI license and a chance to go...

I talked to one guy that got them last weekend, and one guy that didn't. I'm guessing you will have to be on the right school of fish. I don't know the location of either of the guys other than they both fished Michigan and went out by Harley ramp.

Guess that’s why they call it fishing. Lol. Thanks for the input. Putting out at Harley ramp as well.

I’ll be up there from 10/6-10/9. Never fished it in the fall, so no clue where to start. Gonna be limited to the US side as well. Glad to share how we do. Will probably start in anchor bay somewhere - maybe near where the channels empty in.

Thanks for the info Dan. Hate fighting with a big tourney. Feel like I’m in the way. I’ll be curious to hear how you do Scrib. Was thinking Anchor as well. Caught fish in late summer near the “b” buoy. Sail boat marker.

Let us know how you do, like to head up end of OCT if weather/wind is bearable.

Don't worry about the "big" tourney. LSC is big and you likely won't be near anyone that's fishing it anyway. I've been out there during FLW events and you can hardly tell there's another event going on. I'd just keep an eye on the weather and look for which direction the wind is from and where the cleanest water is. The high winds this time of year can trash the water clarity and the fishing. There are fish everywhere and finding clean, fishable water is the key for me. Good luck!

I hope to get out this weekend as well and I don't have much experience fishing October or later. Any general tips or things to look for? I'm assuming I should be spending a good part of the day fishing shallow with a trap or something...

Heading up 18-21, staying near Anchor Bay in northern Detroit, cannot wait.

Um, yeah... this weather (and wind) is for the pits. Lake is chocolate milk. Going tomorrow and having to talk myself into still going. Come on fall, cut us some slack!

Took 28.37 and 28.27 for first and second in monster quest. It was a tough bite though

Had a great time, beautiful weather with wind, but no rain (thankfully). Never found smallies but did find LM and pike in wind-blown canals on spinnerbaits. This is the only success we had, but I did catch a pike that went 29" and anhilated my spinner lol.
