    2013 250 HO Temps/Overheat

    I have a 13 520C with an 250 HO Etec.

replaced water pump in spring and it was in very poor condition from previous owner. Only 60 Hrs at time.

Water pressure and temps were fine until recently it had an overheat alarm for ~10 seconds due to weeds/muck.

Idling in at end of day I was told my tell tale wasn’t pumping.

Temps at idle were climbing to ~195 + but would fall at a fast idle to ~150 according to HDS.

Tell tale was pumping in the morning so I fished the next day of tournament but it was still climbing at idle to 195+

Took the water pump out when I got home and it looked like brand new so I reinstalled it.

Running ~ 140 at speed but climbing near 200 at idle according to HDS.

Troubleshooting at ramp I switched thermostats side to side and temps will drop to 170 when I swap them as I’m sure the sensor is on the passenger side.

Digital temp gauge reading within 10 degrees of HDS temps at cylinder head.

    Thermotats are stamped 143 degrees.

Pulled both thermostats and it idles below 100.

Replace both thermostats and it idles at 180 now.

While backflushing with hose block stays cold while running below 100.

Looking for input on troubleshooting moving forward. In my opinion it should idle at 163 or cooler.

    Thank you

May want to check the water flow to the EMM and VST.

Pull the line to the EMM while running or put an inline pressure gauge?
    Thanks

Not running nor put a gauge on just remove them and back flush from the discharge port.

    Ran it again today.
185 degrees idling out from ramp.
Running at less than 150 degrees
noticed only 5 PSI water Pressure at idle.
over 15 PSI running wide open
