    Transducer Spray

    Good morning,

I have played with the mounting height of my transducer but I am still getting alot of spray on my outboard. It got worse as the transducer was raised up. The Transducer is fairly large (Garmin CV51TM CHIRP ClearVu/ SideVu).

Any ideas how to eliminate this issue?

    Would lower the transducer help?

If you are running your transducer level w/the bottom of the hull
thats all you can do that I'm aware of. LDS

See if Garmin has a solution. Humminbird has a small adapter that fits in the mount that prevents rooster tail

    ^ This!
Easy to DIY your own, but premade plates that bolt between the ducer and mount are available.

Huge pic (sorry) of a DIY method:

I am assuming you have a skimmer type transducer. This YouTube video might help.
Hard to believe this small adjustment could make much of a difference but it instantly cured my Helix12si transducer problem of not reading bottom when on plane. Having the transducer angle a little bit wrong might also cause excessive spray. Nothing to lose trying it.

I’m not sure what the mounting system is on yours, but On mine I wrapped the gap between the
the ducer mount and mounting board with black electrical tape. This stopped it from spraying
    side of outboard.
