Honda has a new HO coming out!!!
Will see how it does with the new lower unit and a little more power. Its been in the works for a while now so shouldn't be any hidden issues with it.

You're right..As soon as the v-8 was released my sho stopped running. Just imagine how much father ahead the v-8 would be if anyone could figure out how to prop them!

    G2 is done. no hope.
Yamaha can recover if they get rid of the bathtub cowl.
I own a Mercury but you sound like an idiot. For years Mercury has the the biggest number of outboards on bass boats

I think he understands perfectly. His comment was spot on. Merc makes good motors but your limited understanding of others needs makes you sound like an idiot. Just because one more supplier drops their old design does not mean all others are done... The G2 has the same performance as the V8 and for those of us who do not run 30 miles to fish and mostly fish small 3 mile and under lakes, it is a better tool for us. Also 10Y warrantee is HUGE. Till I see the Decible numbers it is only opinion on volume. NOTE at 50+ I cant hear my engine over the wind...

Yammi while hole shot is not as good is still no slouch.

I would own any of the three but because of my fishing locals and my dealer support the G2 makes the most sense for me..

I sure as hell won't be the first guinea pig to buy one. I'll give Merc a few years to get the bugs worked out.

Unless the thread gets dumped it will be here, or until the board folds. Better question is will you be here in 2 years? Not much confidence in someone that won't fill out their profile, doesn't bring much credibility to you.

I don’t see Yamaha or Evinrude going anywhere. Or Suzuki and Honda for that matter. They’ll still have a roll in the bass boat market

I’ve owned a number of different brands but I can’t believe the hype and obsession over these new Merc’s....
As far as market domination, have you ever wondered if mercury is on so many boats because they cornered the market and limit your choice with most boat brands? If it’s the best option why would they need to pair with so many manufacturers and force an upcharge to switch? Just an outside observation but you can keep them....
