What is the significance of blueprinting a prop?

Never had any prop work done before but have heard a lot of guys talking about having a prop balanced and blueprinted. Can someone explain this term? Also when the leading edge of a prop
ia “thinned” does that allow the prop to turn faster? I assume less resistance? Appreciate the responses in advance.
