Went to maxi today...and then went elsewhere

Get to maxi about 6:45, find what I think was a walleye tournament. They hadn't launched every boat yet, but they had taken up every parking spot. So we turned around and went over to palastine. Caught two dinks, and loaded boat up on the trailer and went over to beaver dam. Just wanted to catch a smallie, and that wasn't happening. Buddy pointed out a run down dock I wasn't going to bother to fish, didn't seem like any fish were up shallow, but I went ahead and skipped a tube underneath it. Get a fish screaming from under the dock, turned out to be a smallmouth. Not very many of those in beaver dam, but got lucky and caught one of the few. Ended up catching a few decent fish.

All in all, not the best day catching fish, but it was a really nice day to be out on the boat for sure.

If you live at irish it is more like a 40 minutes from your house.

And it is just a little lake, I like to fish it now and then because I know it well. I fished barbee today. I'd rather fish wawasee, loon, barbee, webster, winona, or chapman than beaver dam, but those take longer to get to.
