    Lake Martin mid October

I plan on fishing lake Martin for a couple days while my wife is visiting her sister in auburn. Will y'all offer up any pointers. I have never fished this lake. Will probably be putting in at the state park.

Depending on the areas you fish, the spots should be busting baitfish up in the pockets and creeks. I don't fish that section of the lake...I fish the other arm of the lake, and when they are busting baitfish, you can catch one or two on just about anything, but prop baits are a sure thing. The rest of the time, I am throwing different types of crankbaits. The Wind Creek area is going to have slightly colored water, where the further down you go towards the dam, it can be really clear. For crankbaits, I generally find that a bit of chartruse is most productive.
