    Torque for Motor/Transom Brackets

    I have a 1996 296TF with a 200 HP Opti. I just found one of the top mounting bolts sheared off and noticed the other top bolt is loose. Does anyone know the torque needed on the top and lower 2 bolts for the bracket attached to the boat?

    Do you have stainless bolts with brass/bronze nuts?I only use grade 8 bolts on my motor.

    I just ordered a grade 8. It was the original bolt with a brass nut.

    Grade 8 you will need to change out 2-3 years but they are stronger.
