83 235hp Charging and RPM Problems
Hey All, noticed my battery wasn't charging after hard starting issues upon carb's and fuel pumps rebuilds. The starting battery was pretty weak and a bit small so replaced with new 830 cca battery. After engine warmed up checked charging output with digital meter no change in volts with engine running. Also have always thought the RPMs were reading a bit high based on engine idle. Any ideas? Rectifier, powerpacks, etc. I'm not sure if i have a regulator couldn't located it, per my service manual all v6 235's should be regulated?

You have both on your motor. The rectifier is #0583408 and the regulator is 0173640. the regulator is NLA but there is a dealer in IL that has one in stock. AHLSTRAND MARINE CO
