    C Channel vs Tube Trailer

What’s the deal? I just ordered a 920 and went with the c channel frame. Is this the best option? It seems the tube would be stronger but the dealer thought the c channel was the best option. What does BBC say?

Yep been down this road before. Had 2 different tube frames and had all kinds of rust issues. I have a 05 channel frame now and it's just recently started to get rusted. I wipe it down with WD-40 rather than a cleaner or wax so it kinda leaves a protective coaton it. So far so good.

tube stronger. can rust out. That said, the c channel has a tube axle on it and mine seeps water. So the axle will eventually rust out. Just may be 20 years from now. This conversation far more important if you fish Brackish water. I fish Lake Okeechobee and while I don't think it is brackish I'm sure it has higher salt content then a lake in my home state of KY. My father had a tube trailer and it had problems in FLA after about 8 years. did not collapse but rust was bad.

I feel way more comfortable with a C than a tube after having owned a tube. When you see rust on the exterior of a tubed, you can bet it’s really bad where you can’t see it.

Yes, for the $200 expense it's not worth the debate. AND it's the only choice.

Yes, it was about a $200 upgrade for the c channel.
