    2010 Nitro Z7 Hull Hook

Looking at a 2010 Nitro Z7, pretty clean boat, I like it and the price is right. I have been reading reviews tho about the hook in the nitro hulls. I understand how to check them but:

    -do these develop over time?
-how do these hulls hold up?
    -Should I stay away?

So far so good with mine it’s runs just as good as when I bought it a couple of years ago. I used a four foot level to check mine.

Mine's fine. If it doesn't have it now, you'll be fine.

Don't know. Bad construction. Everybrand gets hooked hulls once in a while. If this boat doesn't have it currently then you're fine.

Supposedly hulls that are hooked we're not cured in the mold long enough and got a bevel in it but looking at a 8-9 year old boat the problem should be evident or not simply put

Ask the right questions when talking to seller. What is the top speed, ask if you can take the boat out for a test drive with them? Before I purchased mine, the seller just had the hull fixed and was getting 46-48 mph or so top speed with a 150 optimax, if that helps, before it was fixed. Now I'm getting 58+

Seller said 60mph, mechanic checked and said looks good. From my understanding, if its still good and will continue. On an 8 year old boat, the problem would have manifested by now...

Well I hope you're taking it out on the lake before buying. If so, the electronics (or your phone) will tell you how fast you're going (GPS).

Yes of course, be watching for that. Had a pre sale eval done by a mechanic, no hull hook found as well..
