    Center Compartment Gas Strut Add-On

Added a second strut to help in high wind. The original strut was mounted in the center area. I decided to split and add a second strut to help with the load. After splitting and adding the second strut, one bracket pulled out of the lid. Didn’t realize there was backing in the center area only to reinforce bracket attachment. This is how I added reinforcement.

    Area to be reinforced.

Install using 1/2”x#10 ss self tapping screws.

Deck mounting brackets with a fracture plates on the top surface. Added ss washers to shim uneven compartment surface. This is s strong solution for this application should hold up to abuse and wind.
