Meh, in a few years what will they say if FLW is the best one left? I think they know what BASS did in unsustainable and they will be right back to their old tried and true format. What nobody knows is what the profit numbers are for those organizations, atleast not the BBC. Maybe they arent what people think and the only thing that will get you thru the economic turn downs is entry fees.

I’ve been a little disappointed in the self described outspoken Balog. I was expecting more opinionated and less on the fence type commentary. When someone self describes themselves that way then I’m expecting a firecracker who stirs the pot and has tabloid worthy stuff. Maybe it’s just me.

Yes..if its all about dollars and cents, as one guy put it in the article, you should probably have another source of income, winnings don't net much after expenses, even if you place in every event.
I don’t think it was a good move by flw , will push more guys to fish the opens to qualify for the elites
But I do agree with you.
A lot of people buy scratch off tickets every day cause they see a picture of someone who won $1000.
That is FLW's (successful) business model and they are all in on it.

There are only 80 spots in the Elites so there's not a whole lotta spots out there. With MLF/ Bass Pro shops Tour tying up 80 spots for 3 years there is not going to be a lot of jumping around. Each tour will be set for at least 3 years... Then all hell may break loose... Dan

I have to wonder if they are just pissed about the money alone. If you read the letter it almost seems as if FLW is finally embracing it's role as the feeder circuit. I think that probably pissed some of the FLW guys off. They want to be seen as on the same level as BASS and the BPT.
Feeder circuit to what???? FLW has the grassroots to last for years even if another hope candidate crushes the economy. The other two? Nope.
FLW’s response was simple and concise, I’m sure they are not concerned about a few disgruntled anglers. They are grooming thousands more and by the success that FLW anglers are having on the “elite”, probably feeling pretty confident about their status
