How to remove control box and cable

I have a 1988 stratos 201 with a xp150. My shift cable has broke but I can’t figure out how to remove the control box so I can access the cables. I’ve removed the screws that hold the control box on the side of the boat but can’t get it out to see the cables. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you can remove the handle by moving it forward till you see a slot. I think there is an allen head screw in there. I am just guessing that you have a concealed type box. Check the OMC forum.

Need to put it in full reverse then you can access the set screw it takes a 1/8" allen wrench.
