1998 ZX 202 C with 2003 Yamaha 200 HPDI. Running a 25in Yamaha prop--25M--just had prop reworked. Slow to get out of hole. Runs 5800 rpm's and about 60mph on top end. Runs really well except hole shot. Am I gonna need a foil or is it wrong prop.

Something wrong, bought mine new, had close fishing buddies with two others. The all performed with good to ecellent hole shots and 64-70 mph. Check compression and then prop and engine height. All turned from 5500-6000 if my memory serves me correct.
This should be a mid to upper sixties rig. I run a 25M or a 26 Tempest on mine.
I have a 2000 zx195c -slightly smaller with 200 hp Yamaha- mid 60's and instant hole shot(2 seconds) boat leaps up on plane with full gas tanks an livewells filled- running a 25 prop 3 blade, just put on a se sport300 fin- best $59.00 you will ever spend.
I did install a sport hydro foil. Problem solved. Thanks for replies
Is the prop vented ? I tried a prop without vent holes and it sucked on holeshot. Also a 1998 zx202c.
