    Taxidermist / Replica Mount Recommendations

Hi - hoping to get some recommendations on a good taxidermist for a replica smallmouth mount. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure where I picked up his card but try murphysfishtaxidermy.com in Howell. Doug's cell is (810)-533-9285. He does replica work.

I did hours of research before I chose my replica company... Dave Campbell's name came up repeatedly as being one of if not the best in the country. He is pricey, but you get what you pay for.... I spent a ton of money on my boat, truck, rods/reels and tackle to pursue a trophy bass, so why the heck would I get a cheap replica of the trophy fish I caught using all my expensive gear?!?!?! There's a reason a Lamborghini costs more than a KIA...

    Just my .02

Here's pics of my PB smallie (6lb 4oz) and largemouth (12lb 8oz) that Dave did. He paints every single scale separately, not the "overall airbrushed" generalized paint job a majority of the other companies out there do.

My fish are on his website under the "master grade" tab also. Good luck on your search.

Dave Campbell is awesome. He did a largemouth for me that is perfect. However, the last 3 mounts have been done by Lawrence Taxidermy. For the money I think his work is fantastic and much quicker turnaround. He is completing a smallmouth for me and I am getting ready to send a 2.5# crappie to him to mold that I caught last weekend. Check him out his prices I believe are right at $25 per inch as Dave will be almost double.
