I'm adding one to my Jackson Big Rig, was wondering what you all do when you are on river runs and come up on troublesome low areas. And have any of you ran into any problems because of it?

My yak is stable enough that if I absolutely had to I could turn around and remove the pp rod and lay it down on the yak.

I use the pull rope and lay it down on the deck.
I usally take it down or bump it down a little. I don't carry my rods in my blakpak just two rod holders on my gear tracks. Bridges are my clearance issue

Another question! I noticed that there are two different poles, a light weight and a heavy duty, is one better than the other?

I have the 8ft heavy it was the only one out at the time. The lightweight version is a tad bit shorter I think by a half an foot. I feel the weight of my pole when its rocking back and forth with the wind. But ive never had and issues with it.

You will love it. So much easier and quiet than an anchor.

I wish I still had mine for the rivers, its definitely nice to have. Some stretches especially when the ground is very rocky you might have some trouble getting it to hold so just be aware. Ultimately I ended up selling it because I still needed an anchor to use with it on lakes. One single pivot point plus wind means you will be spinning around with the wind when you don't want to.

Pinning the front and back is the best way to fish an area or piece of structure throughly. Anchor Wizard for front and back or power pole
On back and Anchor Wizard for front.
