About 7 years ago I was turned-on to Cafe Do Ponto a Brazilian coffee. Been ordering online 20lbs for about $8-9/lb at a time every since. Every time we try something else we come back to Cafe Do Ponto. Only one importer in the US near as I can tell. May have to give this a try just for an alternative. Primarily bemused I am sure this stuff will help me lose weight.....

Yup. This company sells coffee from Uganda and Ethiopia. https://eastafricacoffeeco.com/ They are small family business in PA.

It is all good stuff! We either drink this or Puerto Rican coffee... Yaucono.

Olympic Marathon Gold Medals since 1960:

Ethiopia - Six (4 men's and two women's, including the women's Olympic Record).

    Kenya - Three (2 men's and one women's).

Overall medal count goes to Kenya by one (12 to 11) during that time period, but nobody remembers second (or third) place.

Have not had a chance to try Ethiopian yet. How does it compare to Jamaican?

We drink a lot of Columbian, Sumatra, and Peruvian...need to try some Ethiopian.

My buddy buys the beans green (non roasted).

I think he normally buys 20 lbs bags.

He will roast my order the day I pick them up.....it is really good fresh.

We order every two weeks from him.
It is best consumed in the first 2 weeks of roasting!

As noted, coffee originated in Ethiopia and they've garnered more awards than any other growing region.
However, we drink Hawaiian Kona coffee. It's VERY high quality and a US product, keeping/growing jobs here.
I'd suggest that everyone give it a try, see if you enjoy the flavor. Best of all, visit the islands yourself.

Need to shop around ... we buy this at Publix for $4.49 per bag. And currently, there's a $1.00/off coupon.
Figure $3.50 isn't too bad for good coffee. https://store.kauaicoffee.com/100-ka...oast-p484.aspx

Kona is very good, actually cheaper than Jamaican and almost as good.

I like the USA part as well!

That's funny, my favorite coffee for the last year and half or so has been Peet's Big Bang. It's all I buy and brew at home. It's an ethiopian blend, too. Give it a shot. It's really smooth with a good amount of body to it. Most food stores and target have it at around $10-ish a bag but it seems to go on sale for $6 or so every now and then and I'll buy two or three bags.
