What 6.5 Creedmoor round you use for Deer

Wife bought the Creedmoor to hunt deer, will take to range this week. Will try Winchester Deer Season 125gr. Any other round she should try? This rifle is new to both of us just going by ammo salesman recommended.

Hornady 143 Grain ELD-X. I have two 6.5 Creedmoor rifles, and this ammo shoots under 1/2 MOA in both. Have shot one blackbuck doe and three Pronghorn with this round with no tracking required.

This^^^^. I am truly amazed at the accuracy of this round. It should handle just about any north american animal at 500 yds. Deer 600+ cj.

I'd probably see if the 140gr Remington Core-Lokt shot well enough in my rifle and stick with that.

The problem with my 6.5 is finding a grain to shoot. I bought a bunch of factory ammo of different grain bullets to find out what she likes. everything from 120 to 143 shoots great. I bought some dies last night and will start rolling my own in the 140 eld match to see what I get. This is a fun rifle to mess with and a great shooter.

Been pondering a 6.5 Grendel upper to see what that does. Everything I read about it is positive.

Wife's Creedmoor is shooting Winchester deer season 125 gr ok.She now wants to try Hornady American Whitetail 129 gr and Remington Core-Lokt 140 gr. Before she spends the money on the Hornady Superformance 143gr ELD-X.

For cheaper factory ammo the Hornady American WT 129 shoot great out of my rifle.

Same round I use. It shoots the best of any I tried in my Ruger. I have several friends with the 6.5 and they all shoot this round also.

I don’t have experience with the 6.5 but I will say that I believe that Hornady makes the best factory ammo you can get.

Another vote for the 143 ELD-X. Killed several hogs with it, and my boy got a deer this weekend using it. Broke both front shoulders.
