    smoking with maple?

TVA dropped some maple trees in the neighbors yard. I grabbed a small load and am wondering if this wood is OK to smoke chicken once it's dried? thanks!

my understanding is yes. I have used some silver maple at the end of cooks after all the smoke penetration is done.

Use it all the time from the store... May not be the exact same kind of maple... I mix it with Apple also.. it's my favorite combo

I thought sugar maple was the maple to only use.

I buy maple wood chunks and really like it. Chicken and ribs were good with the maple wood.

I've used hard maple and prefer it to the softer maple varieties.
