    488VS For Sale?

Looking hard for a 488VS for sale. Living in St. Louis but willing to travel if that’s what it takes. Would prefer a Mercury outboard but at this point will look at anything. For colors I’m pretty open as long as they don’t match the color pattern of a disco party from 1977. If it needs new carpet, seats, or motor work I’m just as or more interested. Hoping to find help here locating my dream boat.

I had one years ago. It's a great boat. I'll keep an eye out. Would you take a 487? Same boat, just a single console.

When I was looking for my boat, I was in the market for a 487/488 or 491/492, as they were the largest hulls of that era. I never found a 487 or 491 in nearly 8 months of looking. I saw a few very nice 488's that got sold before I could decide, literally within days of showing up on Craigslist. One was in Dallas and the 488 sold in 2 days of being for sale.

Use search tempest and search 488 and 488VS. I would also continue to search Craigslist by area and search by Ranger. Sometimes the sellers know it is a ranger, but don't know enough to put the model number....

Never really thought about a single console boat because I’ve never had one, but with the popularity of these boats I might have to. The search tempest site is a gold mine and already turned up results. I was looking for 492s as well but I recently moved to a private lake and those are too big. So a 488 fits the private lake and I can still survive on Lake of of the Ozarks here in MO.

I saw one for sale at our open tournament this past weekend! It had a Merc on it, power poles too! Cherry condition!!! $13500. Only problem is, I have no clue who had it for sale. I'm sure I could do some digging and find whos it was if interested.

I personally saw this boat at our club open last weekend. It’s as good as the pictures show and as legit as it gets.

That fits the mold greatly!! That falls right in line with other boats on the price point. These boats seem to surface 5 at a time and then disappear for weeks.
