    Dual poles on RT198?

It has been a while since ive logged on so I apologize if this has been discussed. I just noticed that the Ranger website shows dual power poles on the 198p 😮. Does this mean my 188 can handle dual poles now without warranty loss?

Your 188 is not a 198. So I'm guessing No

I have no doubt that the boat can handle 2 poles. But he's wondering about the warranty. are you saying it's OK?

Here is how my dealer installed my poles.
Hopefully this picture is clear enough of the brackets.
Let me know if not and I will post a different picture.
My dealer said when mounted this way it doesn't effect the warranty, when you mount the poles directly to the transom is when it will void your warranty.

Been hashed to death and I cannot believe dealers are still this in the dark?! Unless something changed at Ranger in the last year and PLEASE correct me if it has!!: ONE Power Pole, starboard side ONLY, factory mount ONLY!

So yes, sandwich brackets, mounting to a set back plate, mounting two, etc.. VOIDS THE WARRANTY per Ranger! Believe me, I had two on order and made my dealer verify and even they were surprised!

Stop listening to your dealers and call Ranger directly, it's not worth the risk for me. I imagine dealerships know we all want two, so they are mounting them to sandwich brackets and jack plates, so that IF there's an issue they don't have to explain the mounting holes to Ranger...JMG?

From what i was told it can only be a sportsman series also. Which is stupid considering that a 10ft blade is literally only 10 pounds heavier. I contacted my dealer the day after i saw the 2019 with dual poles and as of right now they have no information if that has changed for older models.

The 2019 198 can take two poles w/o warranty being voided. It was one of the updates for this coming model. The older models are one pole only..i am not sure if they made the changes to the 2019 Rt 188 as well. I have only seen and heard that the 198 can take two poles...again the 2019 model.

Yes, the new 198 can but the person asked if it included the 188 and it does not.

Still one only, as stated, on all RT188's...if you want two on your RT188 simply trade it for your warranty.
