50 cooker size for dinner..
One 50 pounder and then I'd be rich and famous!
The days you remember are the five 4 pounders.
I guess the same goes for women, id rather have 5 "HOT" ones than 100 ugly ones, just sayin
5 is an arbitrary number to me. Happy to catch as many as I can in a day, regardless of size.
I'll take the numbers now a days. I just like getting bit and catching fish.

50 one pounder smallies on 6# line, and light rod/reel!
A 1lb smallie will drag a 3lb largemouth around!

5 LBs all day long, odds are if I'm catching 5 LBs I will catch 100 1LBs
5 four pounders
5 4's
Largemouth or smallmouth? If largemouth I say 5 4lbers. If smallmouth, I'm not sure I could pick. I'd probably be equally happy with either one.
I fish mostly in the Metro so maybe that skews my experience somewhat (especially with the popularity of bass tournaments in recent years, it seems), but I'd say this is really only true in the spring and certain days in the fall. In the summer, you can fish docks all day and catch 150 fish and maybe get 1 or 2 nice ones unless you happen to land on the "right" set of docks. Even then the nice ones are not usually scattered around throughout the day or different areas. Same story for landing on a school. With a few exceptions, you only need to catch 2 fish out of a school before deciding whether it's one you need to stay on or not.
This fits with my experience fishing tourneys, too. Again outside of those times of year I mentioned, reliably the guy who wins will say something like "I only caught 7 fish all day." Maybe they're all lying I suppose, but no reason to do that. Usually it's me standing around thinking, "Damn, I caught 25. Still only weighed 10 lbs though!" The "toughest" days in terms of numbers are usually the ones where I'll get lucky and bust a big bag.
Hell, it even applies to lakes in general. The ones that are good numbers lakes are usually the toughest ones to catch a big one on. The lakes where it's tougher to get bit are the ones where you'll see giant bags.

I am happy either way and would consider either a success. Fun fishing I am usually shooting for a good bag weight or total quanity. If I go out and catch 6 or 7 little ones quick, I usually shift my focus to improving size.
