Kid (2nd grader) takes gun to school for "show and tell" shoots himself in hand, fortunately no other injuries reported, BUT get this "Daddy" is a convicted felon and not supposed to have any contact with firearms much less stolen firearms

proving once again how law breakers pay attention to the laws

Moral of the story- teach your kid how to handle your firearms properly, and to know they won't be in trouble but to leave immediately and tell an adult if a friend has a gun they are playing with. Lucky the kid didn't shoot one of them in the head.

I believe the point was a felon who is not allowed by law to own or possess a firearm ignoring the law and having one. Even at that I doubt he allowed the second grader to take it to school, dummy probably left it where the kid could get his hands on it. As far as your comment on people from Alabama I take offense to that, I know quite a few people from that state and find them to be very intelligent and great friends!!

I read the story a few times and I don't see anything in there saying the "redneck parent" allowed the boy to handle OR bring the gun to school. So the story proves nothing other than the 7 year old boy had access to a gun that was not locked up and the boy took it to school and was showing it to the other kid in the school bathroom. I'm not sure where you came up with the assumption that there are "dumb shitheads in AL" but I can assure you, there are dumb shitheads everywhere, not just Alabama.

you must have missed the point about him not even supposed to be around guns (the parent), shows plenty of responsibility by the parent that "allowed" a child to handle a gun, i'm thinking no gun this would have never happened, so if you point is that i'm laying blame on the ignorant reckless parent then yes that's what I got out of it

Well, without thinking too hard I can come up with four laws (three felonies) that were broken so we probably need more laws. It's wonderful though that the superintendent wants to create a task force to deal with this since there obviously weren't enough laws.
