    Winter is around the corner

The warm weather will be gone shortly. I see the farmers around me are harvesting their corn and bean already. Most of the fields have turned into that golden brown color.

It's coming. Hopefully 6 more weeks before the boat takes its winter nap. And then the snowmobile comes out

Living in the Midwest we get to see a pretty even 3 months of each of the 4 seasons. I love Summer, but I'm ready for Fall and some cooler weather

I can put on enough clothing to keep warm but can't remove enough to stay cool. Don't like temps below freezing for long periods but cold weather is great for me. Usually not too bad here in western KY.

94-95 with a heat index of 100. It cooled down enough to where we got our annual multi- agency live fire training in today.

If it's just around the corner, I guess I'm living in a circle.

Fishing in winter here means wearing jeans in the morning and changing over to shorts by lunch. If you're a tough guy then shorts all day. Sometimes my feet do get chilly when my crocs get wet launching the boat.

The mention of ice reminds me of the Ole joke about two coon-AZZes transferred to a plant in Minnesota. When the lake froze over...the two boys were really missing their fishing, but hear the other guys talk about fishing anyway. They asked one of the buddies at work, and he told them to...just stop at the marina....they will line you up. Ask em for some ice picks and 2 six packs of beer and go at it! They arrived at the Marina and asked for some ice picks and 2 six packs of beer. About 1.5 hours later, they came back and asked for some ice picks and 2 six packs of beer. Around 2 hours later they came in for more beer. The fella at the marina said...Boys... you must be killing those fish!!! The two looked at each other and told the guy..naw--- We just got the dam boat in the water!!

Not here, we are in the mid 90's. We are running 8 to 10 degrees above normal with no end in sight.
