I keep hitting my Terrova TM......

Every time my boat releases from the trailer when I am putting in. The overlap pops down and hit the side plastic cover and usually knocks the screw out. How are you all doing it with the Terrova and Ultrax, they stick out toward the front of the boat.

Boat style - trailer -- ramp angle-- trailer depth will all come into play.
I would try different trailer depths at first when off loading.

Agree with the above. If I had to guess one thing, it sounds like backing the trailer in too far. Steep ramps might make it impossible to avoid, but if possible try tapping the brakes to get it sliding off the trailer earlier than you have been doing (within reason, of course).

Mk 47 sliding plate, has a 6" rear slide to allow for this to work for you, been discontinued but they make a sliding plate that will rectify your issues, just look for it on minnkotta.

Mine always hits if I back in deep, shallow or a steep ramp. I will try to back the boat in SLOW until the boat rises off the trailer upwards. It would seem Minn Kota would have a sliding bracket to compensate for the overhang. I know you can order an aftermarket but I was hoping someone would have figured out how NOT TOO bang the trolling motor on the front roller when it slides off.

That really sucks. Any way you could adjust the position of the roller/winch "tower" to try to compensate? Seems like moving it forward would help, though it would also change the tongue weight and how the thing tows down the road. Could also maybe raise the height of the bunks in the front depending on how the trailer is built?

Else it sounds like the sliding plate is the best solution!

My Terrova is mounted on a MKA-51 never has a problem, I don't need to slide it back either.

When I had a Terrova it was only an issue on a steep ramp.
To keep from banging I would have my partner back in deeper than needed and the whole boat would float up at once.

I'm looking at the slider now. I fish a lot by myself so I do not have another person to counter balance the weight.....

Theres a company in Texas that makes the slide mount and sells them direct. Great product. I had one on my last boat. I'm drawing a blank on company name right now.

How much are you hitting? I'm wondering if instead of getting a sliding mount of some sort would it be enough to just put a flat aluminum or steel plate under your existing tm mount to raise it up.

If you aren't driving the boat off the trailer you'll need to back in smoothly at a steady speed so that you bury the trailer before the bow comes off the roller. Also try more drop on your hitch.
