I am in the market for a new boat and nitro is on my very short list. Can someone tell me the performance difference on a Z20 with 225 vs a 250?

3-6 mph up top, possible fuel savings at relaxed cruising speeds, less hang ups on resale cause many people want max hp

I currently have a 2018 Z20 with a 200 proxs. Top end 66, good holeshot and handling. My last Z21 69 top end fully loaded.
Rumor has it the 2019 z 20 is 78mph also it is only 1100$ for a 250 over a 225

Guys in 2010 I purchased a Z8 and put a 225 Pro SX on it and regretted not putting the 250 Pro SX on it from day 1. Before I purchased the Z8 I had a Ranger 350V and I put the maximum of a 150 Evinrude and loved it. So I vowed to always use the max hp the boat is rated for. So really do some thinking when buy a new boat on that motor size what's $1200 more when the boats now days are $60 to $80K the difference of $1.2K is a drop in the bucket. You don't have to run it full bore all of the time but when you do, you'll have the performance you want and expect. That's why on my new boat I ordered will have the 250 Pro XS 4 stroke..

Go with the max. HP!!!!Rumor has it the 2019 z 20 is 78mph also it is only 1100$ for a 250 over a 225
In regards to the above rumor,, I'm not sure about that. I have heard rumors as well, but I have yet to hear confirmed or reliable numbers anywhere close to 78 mph.. I am not a speed demon like I used to be, so it is not as important. But I would like to hear reliable Top end numbers from our owners that have the Z20 with the 250 4 Stroke ProXS....
I do know this boat is a hell of a rig!!!

I've been hearing the new z20 are performing better and the hole shots are good and top end is a little better 73- 75 is what I've heard. I know when they start up the new 4 stoke it sounds mean idling. I like it.
