    Chatterbait Rod

I know this has probably been talked about on here numerous times but I was just wondering what rod you guys throw chatterbaits on. I'm looking for a new rod to throw them on but not sure what I want. My budget is about $200. Thanks guys.

I throw my spinnerbaits and chatterbaits on a MH crankbait rod. This one is on the stiffer side almost up to a 1 ounce rating.

I like my Hammer 6’9” H or Falcon Cara 6’10” H for casting around docks, lay downs or other cover but if I need longer casts I use a 7’ Or 7’3” Heavy.

I had a alx zolo deputy that was a sweet chatterbait rod. I regret trading it. Now i use a 7'2" mh expride or a megabass xx emtf and Diablo special

I throw chatterbaits on a BPS Carbonlite 2 combo I got onlline. It’s 7’ MH, Fast. It’s very light and I can chunk it for hours with no fatigue.

You would need to wait for a sale, but i have settled on the Kistler H3 7'-0" H XF... it's not really XF... has a great tip section to make accurate casts, rod loads well, and has great backbone to drive the hook home. It's a very versatile rod. pretty sure the 7'-3" has the same action/power.

I just saw a thread on FB about "FX Custom Rods." Closeout prices. Greatr selection, warranty and the reviews on FB are really good. Maybe worth a look. I use just a basic Powell 705CB, 7ft 5 power. Pretty much a spinnerbait rod, glass composite blank. Also have used a 725CB.

I caught a nice 1.5lb bass on a 3/8oz OG Chatter with a full sized paca craw trailer (likely 1/2 oz total weight), which my 7 year old cranked in through some fairly dense vegetation last weekend. The gear was a GLoomis HSR 9000S IMX, 20 lb braid, 15lb leader, and a Certate 2510R-PE.

It hooked up fine with plenty of tip give and power to move the fish. Many rods will work just fine with the correct reel and line set up.

Is that 734cb glass rod heavy in weight?
