Lifting merc opti 150 1B044209 - to change pad height

I just want to confirm that the lift ring I would need to lift my motor is PN 904551.

Motor to jack plate 90ft lbs

Jack plate to transom or motor direct to transom. 55ft lbs.

    (boat is a 04 ranger reata 180vs)

Reason I am asking is because ive only been getting a peak rpm of 5100 with a 21P tempest @ 6" below pad height. Bought boat used so I cant fully confirm if its a set up issue or not... but I did verify that 6" pad height is fairly deep.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the prompt reply joe.

    Can someone also confirm...

If I was to just raise the motor 1 hole on the transom would that equal roughly 1" bringing me to 5" pad height or?

and to add on to that question.... How much RPM should I expect to gain raising the pad height? seems the norm for most changes within 1" is roughly 200 RPM?

1 mounting hole is approximately 3/4".

BEFORE you start making changes- I would suggest snapping a picture from behind the boat, with the engine at LEVEL trim. It would be VERY hard to get the engine to 6" below pad, unless you have the wrong SHAFT LENGTH engine on your boat.

From what ive searched on here. I found 1 other person with the same year and same model of boat as me his pad height was 6.5" or so that is what he had reported. same prop too but was able to turn 5400 rpm. Another had a 19ft vs and pad height was at 5" with motor mounted on 3rd hole (mine is on the 2nd) Going by what I measured and the info I found I should of gotten the correct measurement but non the less I can snap a picture and also double check.

I actually got 6.12" of pad height when I measured but knowing the odds of getting the boat and motor perfectly level I found 6" some what made sense after my research.

So ranger reported back saying their standard setting for this boat / motor set up is engine mounted on 3rd hole.

so i'd be lifting my motor up 1 hole.

Is there any chance i'd see more then just 200 rpm increase? on that single adjustment? Ive been looking at jackplates but 1 may not be within my budget this year unless I find a decent one used on here or locally.

Im half debating if I should up motor 2 mounting holes... im at 6" pad to prop right now, if changing 1 hole is 3/4" id be at 4.5" pad to prop raising motor 2 holes and would give me that peak target WOT RPM of 5500 ish

If Ranger said middle hole- that's what I'd do. They've done a decent amount of testing- good idea to take advantage of that knowledge.
